Some Thoughts

Several things happened over the past week that I felt necessary to address with a blog post. This post is a bit more personal and based on my experiences with customers.

Every morning I check my email. I live in Florida which is EST and many of my emails come from China or people who search Mon Amour Toujours in the wee hours of the morning. This morning I was a bit discouraged because I was notified by a Yelp email (which goes to a different email address than my site) that a customer left a negative review. I strive to give my utmost attention to everyone that contacts me. This particular customer reached out to me a couple months ago with questions all of which I answered in a timely fashion and freely sharing my knowledge and information. Throughout the entire process he was grateful for my help and assistance and mentioned several times he was glad he chose my company with his purchase, so his negative review was a mystery to me. I decided not to publish the review because the review mentioned nothing about the quality of his doll nor the way I handled his transaction- it merely stated he was unhappy with his doll and it was the worst thing he ever purchased. I decided to reach out to him to see if there was anything I could do to correct things for him. I sent an email letting him I was aware of his review and asked him to contact me to resolve any issues.

Later that morning I received his response and he again thanked me for all my help and assured me that his review in no way reflected me or the quality of the doll he chose. His response was based on how he felt about himself after receiving the doll- he felt embarrassed about his purchase, I let him know I understood his situation and suggested he contact me if he decided to sell his doll in the future- I have yet to hear back from him.

This sort of customer experience is the exception rather than the rule. I am honored to get to know many of my customers and receive great satisfaction helping them find a partner. Once in awhile someone will "just not get it". What I mean by this is there is a psychological experience that goes along with having  a doll- there is a connection that you develop which starts at the time of purchase and perhaps even before that. Many doll owners, myself included, relate to their dolls from more than just a sexual mind set. Some people develop feelings or a connection that comes with caring for their dolls. I can't say that I love my dolls in the romantic sense but I will say there is a connection. At this time it's difficult to explain but I will say that it is something unexpected.

It is my belief that the customer I mention above may have interpreted his thoughts as "embarrassing" but deep down realized he saw this doll as something more than just a "doll"or a sexual object. He also, at some level, understood that by purchasing the doll strictly for sexual gratification would have been an injustice to her; after all these dolls are very life like. When I started my research of dolls I noticed that many sites used the term "fuck dolls" and "sex dolls" for me this was a turn off. Also during my research I read stories of how many doll owners saw their dolls as companions and not just a way for them to get off. I also felt this was how I saw myself as a doll owner- someone searching for companionship. You may notice I use the term "intimate partner alternative" to refer to dolls on my site. I decided to use this term because this opens up the doll to more than just a sexual object; one thing I constantly wrestle with is having to use the term "sex doll" on my site and for advertising but if I didn't then my site would just get lost on the web.

Doll ownership is different for everyone and everyone has their reason for purchasing a doll. None of the reasons for purchasing a doll should be embarrassing. Fortunately there is an option available which allows an individual a way explore and express- in private- their intimate desires, in every form, in a way which they feel that could not be obtained from a traditional relationship. Dolls are a way to express sexuality in a safe environment without the pressure of feeling embarrassed or inadequate. Quite often I hear from customers after they receive their orders. They tell me how excited they felt when she arrived and how much they look forward to seeing their girl when they get home after a long day at work, I too have experienced these same feelings.

Wig Care Tips

Entering the world of dolls can certainly expose you to the feminine trials and tribulations. For most men having to shop for women's clothes or accessories is new territory. Beyond those areas hair care is probably an after thought. All doll manufacturers offer wigs with your purchase. Even though the wigs may not be the highest quality there are some things you can do to make sure they last a long time. 

Proper hair/wig care is just as  important to know as caring for your doll. It may be tempting to reach for your own brush and shampoo but these aren't necessarily the best option. Human hair care products are not intended for synthetic hair so using products designed for wigs is worth considering. Additionally a doll's wig absorbs the oils in TPE and silicone which can remain in the wig if not shampooed properly. Using combs, brushes, shampoos and conditioners designed for wigs will assure your girls hair will be taken care of properly.  

Wig Care Kit

Mon Amour Toujours offers wig care products and even a wig care video on the resources page. The video explains the proper way to shampoo and care for you dolls wigs with the products available. Even though I've hit the highlights of wig care here are some additional tips:

1. You may have to shampoo a wig two or more times to get it clean. Shampoo the wig in a sink several times if necessary until the water is clear.

2. Use the Revitalizing Mist generously. The Revitalizing Mist is a conditioner designed to maintain the synthetic hair. Spray on the wig and brush, the wig will be easier to brush with the conditioner. 

3. Brush starting at the ends first and work your way up. 

4. Brush wigs lying on a flat, smooth surface such as a counter top. This makes it easier to control the wig and removes tangles more thoroughly.

5. Never use a brush or comb on curly or wavy hair. Brushes and combs will stretch the hair fibers and pull the curl out, use your fingers as a substitute brush instead.

The original wig that comes with your doll should last quite a long time if cared for properly. Having an understanding of wig care is another way to protect your investment. Keep an eye out for more important doll care blogs, videos and emails. 

Safe Sex

Last blog article I discussed cleaning the internal cavities, but what if you don't want to deal with the clean up process after your intimate moments? Thinking about cleaning up after sex with your doll may take the spontaneity out of the experience so you may want to consider some other options.

Both male and female condoms are a way to get around orifice cleaning and are great way to enjoy sex with your dolls. Here are a few tips when using condoms:

Male Condoms

1. Wash condoms prior to use. Many condoms use silicone based lubricants which can damage the TPE or silicone. You can clean the condom while it's on or- roll the condom down the first and middle fingers, wash with soap and water, dry with a towel or paper towel, apply a water based lubricant, roll back up.
2. Always use water based lubes.
3. Lubricate the orifice well. Cheap condoms can break if there is too much friction.
4. This still requires cleaning the orifice.

To avoid cleaning the orifice use a female condom.

Female Condoms

1. Also wash and dry thoroughly before use; same reason as the   male condom.
2. Discard the cervix ring.
3. Use water based lube inside of condom.

Inserting the FC

Female condoms are a great way to avoid the cleaning process. After the FC has been washed and dried apply powder to the outside with a brush just as you would your doll, you'll also need to prepare the orifice with powder. The best way I've found to do this is to get a heavy coating of powder on your index finger, insert it and work it around the inside, this will take a couple times to get the inside covered and smooth. Once this is done you insert the FC. Fold about 1/3 of the condom over your index finger and insert it into the opening; make sure your fingernails are smooth so you don't accidentally poke a small hole into the FC. Push the FC in as far as possible until the condom opening is against the labia majora or anal opening. Once it's inserted you're ready to go. You can still use a male condom but it's not necessary. The great thing about female condoms is they can be used several times.

Inside Information

Whether fielding questions on the phone or through email it's inevitable that the question comes up about cleaning inside of oral, vaginal and anal orifices. Some are a little more comfortable with getting to the point but regardless of how you bring up the subject this is something that needs to be address. As much as you look forward to having those spontaneous intimate moments with your sex doll, that spontaneity can be thwarted with the thought of cleaning afterward. Having a game plan will make the process less tedious and discouraging.

If you were to ask any current owner of a realistic sex doll how they clean their doll openings you are sure to get a wide variety of answers. Perhaps the two things that sex doll owners will agree upon are the need for disinfecting and dryness. If not taken care of properly doll orifice's are very prone to mold and damage which you may not be able to see. To avoid these pitfalls I'll share with some suggested methods of cleaning.

Most manufacturers provide a cleaning bottle, these work fairly well but are not the best quality, quite often doll owners will purchase a flavor injector used for food preparation (no need to use the needle for cleaning). Regardless of what you are using, the key is to make sure you are able to reach as deeply as possible with your cleaning solutions. Here's a list of things that you'll need:

1. Cleaning bottle or flavor injector
2. Warm water
3. 3% Hydrogen Peroxide
4. Towels- 1 bath towel and 2 or so smaller towels

Steps 3 & 4

5. Paper towels
6. Plastic bowl
7. Vaseline
8. Bed, couch, soft chair
9. Pillows

After you have all of your items together you are ready to clean.

1. Arrange your chair or bed with the bath towel hanging over the edge and hitting the floor;. Use the pillows as a prop so her torso will be at about a 45 degree angle from the surface she's resting on.
2. Prepare your girl. You'll want to place her on the cleaning area with  her bottom on the towel and positioned as close to the edge as possible. Push her legs back and spread them enough to get the nozzle of the cleaning unit inside.
3.Fill the cleaning unit with warm water, insert it into the opening and squirt the water in. Use the plastic bowl to catch the solution coming out of the opening; see picture. Repeat this three times.

4. Fill the cleaning unit using a small amount of hydrogen peroxide; this is the disinfection solution; may be done twice if necessary. Use the plastic bowl to catch the solution coming out of the opening; see picture.
5.Twist  a paper towel tightly, insert it into the opening and twist it as you push it in deeper. Do this several times until the paper towel twists come out dry. You may need to feel inside to make sure there is no residual moisture.
6. Coat the inside of the orifice with a small amount of Vaseline; this is not necessary for every cleaning but it replaces TPE oils that are washed away with the cleaning process.

This method has worked very successfully for me I hope you find the information helpful and a good starting point for cleaning. In the picture I included a camping toilet just in case you want to use that instead of a bed or chair, this is a good option but not necessary.

Cleaning is a necessary evil but insures the longevity of your investment. As always make it fun!
